About Us

Dr. Weiqing Huang graduated from Beijing Medical University (now the Medical School, Beijing University) in 1987. He came to Australia in 1988 to continue his postgraduate study in hypothalamic neuropeptides and was awarded a PhD degree from Monash University in 1993. He then went on to specialise in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne. He commenced his private practice in February 2005.

Dr. Weiqing Huang is a consultant gynaecologist in the Gynaecological Unit 3 (pelvic floor unit) at the Royal Women’s Hospital. He also attends the Urogynaecological Clinic and Colposcopy Clinic at the Hospital.  He does regular obstetrical on call for the hospital as a consultant obstetrician.

His private obstetric practice is geared towards the management of high risk pregnancies. However as an obstetrician he will always try to let your pregnancy be as natural as you want it, and will try to be guided largely by your own needs and expectations.

As a gynaecologist, Dr. Huang manages a wide range of gynaecological issues. These include prolapse surgery for uterine / vaginal prolapse and stress incontinence, management of abnormal Pap smears (colposcopy), contraception and infertility. He also has a keen interest in laparoscopic or ‘keyhole’ surgery.

As an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist he will always give you plenty of time at your visits for discussion of problems or concerns and endeavour to give you the most up-to-date advice, information and treatment.
